MY EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
"An Engaged Brain is a Learning Brain"
According to Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences, each student has a style and mode of learning that is unique to them. Gardner believed that each student has more than one kind of intelligence that allows them to grasp certain concepts and skills much more easily than others. In an educational space, this could mean students are capable of learning a skill or a concept much more easily if they listen to it or watch a video or simply by reading.
Applying the Principles of UDL, Arts can offer tools for Multiple Means of Engagement and Multiple Means of Action and Expression, and help design inclusive classroom spaces. By integrating various concepts and themes with the Arts, a student can be taken on a journey of exploration that empowers them to take ownership of their learning.
