Understanding Self
Do I know who I am?
As a leader, there are always two aspects to understanding self - in the context of who I am and in the context of the role I play in my school. Both the aspects are equally important and necessary so that we can work efficiently and have maximum impact in the classrooms.Â
Our first and second day sessions involved us understanding ourselves, our strengths, areas that need more work, our working styles and everything that we have achieved so far.
Adaptive Schools
Our first module was centred around us developing our understanding of self and the kind of schools that we seek to co-create. We explored the 9 characteristics of an adaptive school and discussed what our learner profiles should look like. This process helped us set up the foundation for where we wanted to reach, our ultimate goal/ambition.
Relational Trust
Relational Trust was another aspect that we studied as part of the first module. It was established through a series of discussions and exercises that being an adaptive school required building a robust learning community where everyone's needs were catered to and there was a balance between systems and processes and the human connection. The group came up with certain keywords to identify the knowledge, skills and dispositions and documented what that would look like in a leader.
